rural homes.

"Well, I’m super excited to write this review. I do some gaming at night after kids go to bed and this has been highly anticipated since I discovered it! Here’s my situation for some back story so y’all know how I got here. We live in the “country” on acreage literally a quarter mile from city limits and there aren’t enough people out here for the major ISP’s to lay cable. So we did the dsl thing but found out something to do with our crappy lines wasn’t allowing much bandwidth and we were getting about 1mbps tops. Then we switched and found a local rural isp that used cell tower signal and we kept bumping up their package for faster speed to where we were paying $100/mo for their 11mbps speed with a data cap of 300gb but we were averaging about 5mbps. So then I jumped the gun and unwisely bought satellite for the 50mbps speed but immediately found out the ping is super high because there’s no way to avoid signal going from home to space and back and i ended up cancelling that. So I found this and looked at reviews and I ordered the blue package. And in case anyone is wondering if this is a legit program with real people, I got an email from them stating that I had a closer cell tower for the yellow package and it would even be cheaper each month. So I did that and they refunded the first one. I got it today and actually played a couple of hours of a FPS style game and I had absolutely no issues. My ping was around 100 whereas before with my local provider it was around 150-200. No connection interruptions, no lag whatsoever which was amazing and very critical for this stuff. I did a speed test on my Xbox and I was doing 18mbps down and about 8 up. Also, had other devices connected to the mofi router at the same time. I’m telling you guys, if you are considering internet options and you live outside of a serviceable area by the bigger companies you really should check it out. It may seem a bit spendy, but if your options are satellite, you may be looking at only a $50 per month increase. The mofi router has Ethernet ports so my tv and Xbox are wired directly and our phones, tablets, laptop, and Alexa are all WiFi. I’ll either update my review (if possible) or write another one later. This is a really nice plan to have for people in my situation!"
